At Vistatec, we believe the strongest industries are built by strong communities. That is why we are delighted to announce that Vistatec will continue its support of Women in Localization (W.L.) in 2026.
Women in Localization has helped guide the industry for more than a decade, not only by championing women’s advancement but by strengthening the global localization community as a whole. As the industry enters a period of accelerated transformation driven by AI, new workflows, and evolving expectations around quality and ethics, organizations like W.L. are a necessity. They help ensure the future of localization is not only innovative but also inclusive, collaborative, and human-led.
For Vistatec, continuing this support is a meaningful investment in the people, programs, and partnerships that advance our profession.
Celebrating Women in Localization’s Impact
Women in Localization was founded in 2008 by Silvia Avary-Silveira, Eva Klaudinyova, and Anna N. Schlegel, three industry colleagues who shared a passion for globalization and a vision for a more connected, supportive professional community. What began as a Northern California networking group quickly evolved into a global movement, built on the idea that women in localization needed a dedicated space for professional growth, mentorship, peer support, and leadership opportunities.
In 2010, the organization expanded globally and officially became Women in Localization. In 2018, W.L. became a certified non-profit, enabling the organization to further scale its reach and impact.
Today, Women in Localization is the leading non-profit organization for women in the localization industry, with over 17,000 registered members globally and more than 36,000 followers on LinkedIn. W.L. now spans nearly 30 chapters worldwide, reflecting the truly international nature of the localization community. Alongside regional events and networking opportunities, W.L. has built a respected platform for mentoring, education, and community-building, helping professionals grow their careers and advancing the industry toward greater equity.
Their powerful mission is to foster a global, diverse, and inclusive community that advances women and the entire localization industry through education and innovation initiatives.
Why this partnership is meaningful to Vistatec
Vistatec has always believed that innovation and integrity must go hand in hand. Localization is ultimately about people: ensuring that information, experiences, products, and healthcare reach individuals clearly and accurately in their own language.
Supporting Women in Localization aligns naturally with that belief. W.L. creates pathways for mentorship and career development, promotes the profession, and builds industry-wide momentum around inclusion and progress.
Just as importantly, W.L. has become a leading voice for innovation in localization. Through initiatives such as WeShape AI, a global AI solutions hub, the organization is helping drive thoughtful, responsible AI adoption. This focus is timely. The localization industry is currently navigating major shifts in technology, workflows, and expectations. Communities that bring people together to learn, share expertise, and shape best practices are essential to that transition.
Supporting the future of localization in an AI-first era
Vistatec launched a full suite of AI services, rooted in a clear principle: the future of localization is not AI alone, but AI combined with human expertise.
This approach reflects what we see across our client base. Leaders want speed and scalability, but not at the expense of quality, risk management, compliance, or brand credibility. They want the benefits of AI while still relying on specialized linguistic, cultural, and regulatory knowledge to protect the integrity of their content.
Women in Localization create space for professional upskilling, reskilling, and knowledge sharing so the industry can evolve confidently. As the localization profession evolves, clients benefit too, as high-performing global communication depends on a thriving, future-ready talent community.
Vistatec is proud to stand alongside W.L. as that future takes shape.
Momentum as we approach 30 years of Vistatec
This continued commitment to Women in Localization comes at an exciting moment for Vistatec. In 2027, Vistatec will celebrate 30 years in business; nearly three decades of supporting global organizations with localization strategy, delivery, and innovation.
We have also recently moved into our impressive new global headquarters in Dublin, reflecting continued investment in our growth and our capabilities. As we expand our offerings, refine our AI-first services, and support clients navigating complex global markets, we stay just as committed to supporting the professional communities that make localization stronger.
As Women in Localization continues to lead in mentoring, education, and innovation, Vistatec is proud to continue supporting their work through 2026. We encourage localization professionals across the industry to engage with W.L., participate in chapter events, and support the initiatives shaping the future of our field.
