The localization industry is past the point of asking whether AI belongs in its workflows. The more useful questions now are harder ones: where does AI create real value, how do you deploy it responsibly, and how do you keep client trust intact while the technology keeps changing and advancing? Those questions do not always have clean answers, and no single company holds all of them.
This is the thinking behind the Vistatec AI Council: a curated group of industry leaders, practitioners, and AI specialists who convene to make sense of what is changing and what it means for the people building multilingual content at scale.
Who Sits on the Council?
The Council brings together ten members: senior voices from Vistatec alongside external leaders, the wider AI community, and emerging companies working at the edge of the field. We have been deliberate about the mix.
Independent AI experts bring perspective from outside our own walls. And we have made a point of including newer, non-traditional voices, the kind of people brainstorming how this work should be done from scratch rather than adapting an old model to a new tool.
Each meeting may also welcome invited guests, so the room stays fresh and the conversation keeps meeting new thinking rather than circling the same views.
A Council Member Who Isn’t Human
The Council also includes Vicky, an AI agent briefed on the Council’s remit and the wider industry context. Vicky takes part in every session! This is a deliberate choice. A group convened to think clearly about AI in localization should be willing to demonstrate it, not just talk about it, and Vicky makes that visible in the room rather than leaving it as a claim on a slide.
How It Works
The Council meets every two months, six times a year, in focused online sessions. Terms run for twelve months, with the option to renew, so membership stays current as the field moves.
Discussions are candid by design. The value of the room depends on members being able to speak openly, which means the Council is not a broadcast channel, and not every conversation is made public.
What we will share is the thinking that comes out of it. Expect considered pieces on the questions the industry is actually wrestling with, shaped by the range of views around the table.
What Members Get Out of It
Membership is an invitation into an insight-driven network. Members gain an early, informed perspective on how AI is influencing global content and localization, direct exchange with peers facing the same decisions, and a visible role in shaping the conversation for the wider industry.
The technology will keep moving. Vistatec’s AI Council will stay focused on the issues that enterprises are most concerned about: trust, ROI, security, efficiency, governance, and workflow design. By combining expert perspectives across the industry, the Council will help influence more practical, responsible, and effective approaches to language AI.
