​The Role

The Linguistic Project Manager will be involved in all aspects of interfacing with client companies, scheduling and costing review projects, defining process and managing a virtual team of reviewers.Vistatec LRS Production team has an opening for a Project Manager. This role involves direct client communications as primary POC for specific product lines as well as support to other PM team members when volumes peak on different accounts. PMs also interact with reviewer teams and the production team as a whole. Most projects are processed automatically from start to finish with little oversight required. Our goal is to increase automation where possible so we can focus on quality and strengthening relationships within our team, with our vendors and with our client. Our PMs, PCs and PAs work primarily on managing exceptions, especially urgent requests and improving processes and tools for constant increased efficiency.  Our team works as a global team, with PM support covering all time zones. We have hundreds of linguists who are dedicated specifically to our program. We work hard to train and develop our resources and maintain very low turnover as compared to the industry standard.


  • Ensuring that the client receives superior standards of project management and customer service at all times
  • Delivering all projects on time and within budget in accordance with client requirements
  • Preparing proposals and quotations
  • Monitor on-time deliveries and ensure successful completion of linguists' tasks
  • Budget monitoring – monitor time allocation, time spent, logged time etc.
  • Provide troubleshooting to the linguists on the program (tools, processes, responsibilities etc.)
  • Manage the linguist community, monitor their performance, supervise them, identify where correction is needed and follow up accordingly
  • Provide support, advice, guidance to the linguists in their daily tasks
  • Ensure consistency across the program, suggest and share best practices
  • Initiate process improvements, develop the program further
  • Provide support and partnership to the program counterpart on the client's side
  • Interact, communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders - regular meetings, sync-up calls, status updates etc.
  • Status reporting customized to client needs
  • Provision of business intelligence, quality & productivity metrics customized to client needs
  • Running project kick-offs and post-project analysis initiatives
  • Hosting conference calls between translators and reviewers
  • Working with the client, reviewers and translators on quality improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshooting and helping to set standards and processes and continually making recommendations to improve process and maximize efficiencies where possible
  • Central handling of queries and support requests
  • Capacity planning for internal & external resources
  • Working with Vistatec specific applications
  • Learning and working with client-specific tools
  • Reassignments
  • Systematic check of project assets to address issues proactively
  • Query delegation
  • Video conferences with clients and other members of the team


  • Degree or Masters in Translation, Business or relevant field
  • A minimum of 3 years project management experience working in Localization
  • Experience managing a team of onsite and offsite linguists
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solver with excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
  • Fluent English plus a minimum of 1 other language is advantageous
  • Excellent financial awareness, enthusiastic and hard working
  • Knowledge of standard CAT packages (Trados, SDLX, Catalyst etc)
  • Knowledge of GMS systems
