​The Role

Vistatec are currently recruiting for a Senior English Language Specialist to provide optimum language experience for our clients. Candidates should have a proven track record of providing a high quality localization experience. The Senior Language Specialist will manage a large terminology system, working with and training stakeholders. They will work with a team of language specialists for other locales, products teams and project managers.


​Responsibilities

  • Validating English terms
  • Writing/improving definitions
  • Collaborating with other Language Specialists on source terms & triage
  • Mining new terms with Acrolinx mining tool and creating new glossaries
  • Termbase maintenance
  • Documenting terminology process
  • Providing training on terminology to stakeholders
  • Involvement in special projects such as terminology clean-ups
  • Collection and monitoring of terminology metrics
  • Contribution to optimizing terminology processes and tools
  • Troubleshooting
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external resources

​Skills

  • BA/MA in Linguistics/Computer science/Computational Linguistics/Translation studies/Philology, or other related Language Studies/IT field.
  • Ideally 5 years + experience in a terminology role
  • Experience with content tools
  • Experience with CAT & Terminology tools (Termbase, Trados etc)
  • Native-speaker level of English – should have lived/worked/studied in an English-speaking country
  • Attentive to detail, interested in training and outreach activities
  • Demonstrated interest in other languages
  • Localization industry experience and translation essential
