​The Role

As a Language Coordinator (LC) you will be involved all aspects of co-ordinating the language function in a fast paced multi-lingual vendor environment.


Responsibilities

  • Manage language quality audits
  • Manage terminology and maintain glossaries
  • Create and maintain style guides
  • Create and maintain translation instructions and processes
  • Update reference material/cross reference material ensuring consistency
  • Investigate client language review feedback and linguistic rebuttals
  • Assist with Terminology Management (TM) and Multiterm databases
  • Troubleshoot linguistic and TM related issues that arise
  • Filter and answer generic language queries for certain projects
  • Assist with potential new client test translations
  • Create test kits for new language partner recruitment
  • Support Vistatec technology group with linguistic-related questions and provide a translator's perspective on issues
  • Liaise with Project Management on project-specific requests
  • Provide training to internal teams and language partners
  • Engage in source content analysis

​Desired Skills and Expertise

  • Degree or Masters in translation or related field
  • Fluent English plus 1 or 2 additional languages (ideally Asian languages)
  • Minimum 2 years translation or language coordination experience
  • Exposure to IT localisation translation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solver
  • Working knowledge of standard CAT packages a plus, for example Trados, SDLX , Catalyst
